Hello out there

I will admit (not for the first time) that I am a lurker. There I said it. I love to read blogs, but can count on one hand the number of blogs that I have actually commented on. I seem to be drawn to snarky blogs, parents who also have children born in China, and the odd food related recipe blog (pioneer women cooks, looove her blog).
Perhaps if I left the odd comment, other people may comment here as well. Maybe I should get rid of the little application that tells me where people are from who visit this blog? It just makes me so curious about who you are. So please tell me about yourself, say hello.
Here I'll start:
My name is Dayna, I am 29 (cough, cough 36), mom of two angelic, just perfect children (I did not notice white in my hair until I became a mom, just saying), wife to a soccer loving star trek fanatic (hmm, that's kind of an odd combination) and a tad on the sarcastic side. I am also an adoptee.
I have recently taken up running, and I actually like it. Just thought I'd throw that little tidbit in there, I had to see that in print. The last time I ran was probably grade 12 phys ed class, say around 1992ish.

Anyone????

  1. I do try and comment when I stop by--because you have that thing that says I was here ! LOL I tend to be a lurker too. That thing does add a guilt factor, like not tipping the waitress.

39, mom of one beautiful and smart kiddo, AP, college prof, wife to a year round sports fan--namely any team from Cincinnati (no we don't live there).

  2. I'm 41, Mom to 5, the youngest two from China. I am now a SAHM and previously worked as a Physical Therapist. Married to a runner and stared running myself at age 40. I find it to be an awesome stress releaver and often find myself running from 10-11pm while waiting for my teens to arrive home. I also have horse that I ride when I find the time. I have started searching for my adopted daughters' birth families...

  3. Thanks ladies for commenting. Wendy, I do try to comment on your blog. I must say that I haven't had as much time for blog reading this summer. I try to stop by every few weeks to catch up!
Mei Mei, I keep meaning to e-mail you. I'll have to go back and find your address, I know you left it somewhere! I really am enjoying this running thing. I'm up to 5km and have signed up for my first fun run/race.

  5. Hello from Manitoba!

I'm 43, school psychologist and mom to four (28, 25, 4 (China) and soon to be 2 (in China now, hoping to leave in October to get her). I've been checking your blog for about a year and can't remember how I came across it, but I enjoy the Canadian perspective.

I'd love to get more information about finding birth parents as all of our efforts have been unproductive so far.

Hope you continue to enjoy the hot summer!

  6. Hi Linda and TFU.
Don't know why the comments don't always work? Trust me, I didn't think I'd be able to run due to a similar concern but it's manageable with the right accesories.
    Linda, nice to "meet" you.

  7. Hi Dayna,

I am a 41 year old Mom (in Kanata ON) to a 3.5 year old bio son and was just referred a 5 month old precious daughter from Jiangxi. You commented on my blog that your older daughter is from there too. I am now looking around to see what I can find out about Jiangxi.

Your daughters are beautiful and look very happy. Thanks for leaving me a comment so that it would drive me here!
