So much to do

Let the panic begin! I started researching packing lists last night, forgetting that I have our original list on the computer. My dh reminded me of that by stating "why are you doing that, you could just print off the packing list from when we traveled to Avery". Of course, we are adopting a 2 year old this time, not an 8 month old so some revision is in order.
Honestly, it's like I've never done this before. You should have seen Blair and I filling out the paperwork for the Visa/travel forms. In our defence the forms have changed slightly. Really, who can remember from 3 years ago.

Brennyn's room is almost done. We've decided to set up the crib and the bed. I am fairly certain that I will end up sleeping in the bed anyway (at least for the first few weeks). She may want to sleep in the same room as her big sister, although Avery may not be so keen on that idea.

Travel coordinator is calling tomorrow, can't wait!

  1. I have no clue what I did with my packing list--M was 25 months at adoption. She did love the blow up big red ball we brought, singing books, a blow up dolphin (the kind you punch but jumps back up at you--she just rode it), bath tub toys--she wouldn't get IN the bath, but she leaned over the tub and had a great time! Also bubbles--you can buy them there. She also loved the BIg Bird in China and Mulan DVD's--Mulan can be played in Chinese and the other has both languages. She watched Big Bird all the time--it had the Monkey King in it and she loved it.

She really needed the prune drinks--we had to mix them in other juice because her constipation was a real issue. She also loved crackers and cookies of all sorts--Gerber grow-ups were a hit. She HATED the stroller--a total no go. Her teeth were a mess so you might want something to numb the mouth (if she will let you near her mouth, it took us about three days) I gave her tylenol for the pain.

That's all I can think of for now beyond the usual meds; don't forget to bring meds for yourself--enough past possible quarantine times too.

Call me if you need too!

  3. Anytime! I am so glad to get to follow the journey! Hopefully we can get the girls to play together sometime--I think the bigger ones will have a great time and then all of them in a couple of years!
